Vancouver city council has approved the three-tower, mixed-use Burrard Gateway development proposal from Reliance Properties and Jim Pattison Developments. When fully completed, the one-million square foot project will include a curved glass office building with a Toyota dealership at its base and two residential towers, one of which will be the third tallest building in the city at 526 feet tall. (Tweet this) “Although our design received unanimous approval from the Urban Design Panel in June 2011, we’ve continued to refine the design over the last two years, strengthening the distinctive character of the office building,” Reliance Properties president Jon Stovell said. The developer will contribute $20 million to go toward community amenities, including “support for an LGBTQ Qmunity Centre for Davie Village, heritage density, transportation, park and cultural funding.”
